TRC - Teen Resource Center

Programs

Teen Advisory Committee (TAC)

A year-long internship where teens provide feedback to better health services for them and their peers, coordinate community events, and publish their own newsletter. TAC meetings are twice every month for about two hours. Members receive training through a series of youth workshops as well as volunteering at events. Every TAC member is a part of either the Newsletter or Open Mic Committee. The Newsletter committee gets to experience journalism: from on-site photography and interviews to article contribution to newsletter design to distribution. The Open Mic Committee is responsible for planning, outreach, and production assistance of TRC’s semi-annual Open Mic Events.

Community Service Learning Program (CSLP)

A six month internship training program for youth ages 15 to 19. It is an opportunity to develop professionally and give back to the community. Interns are placed at a community organization for 6 months while participating in TRC workshops, discussions, and trainings. The youth show what they learn with the culmination of a final project. Qualified candidates are invited to a follow up interview. Once selected, interns are assigned to selected community organizations where they take on meaningful and rewarding roles through which they learn social responsibility and cooperation. Applications for 2018 CSLP program are closed.
